Yamaha Electric Power Steering (EPS) อีกหนึ่งเทคโนโลยีใหม่ล่าสุดของ Yamaha ที่กำลังพัฒนา และตัวต้นแบบจะถูกใช้งานจริงๆ เป็นครั้งแรก โดยรถของ Yamaha ที่จะลงสนามแข่งขันงาน All Japan Motocross Championship จะมีการติดตั้งระบบนี้

 

Yamaha Electric Power Steering (EPS) เรียกง่ายๆ ก็คือ ระบบพวงมาลัยเพาเวอร์ไฟฟ้า ซึ่งในอนาคตอาจเป็นอุปกรณ์ที่เสริมการขับขี่ก็ว่าได้ อารมณ์เหมือนกับระบบเบรค ABS และระบบ Traction control system เป็นต้น

 

ทาง Yamaha ได้เปิดเผยข้อมูลออกมาว่า การทำงานของ Yamaha Electric Power Steering (EPS) จะถูกควบคุมด้วย เซนเซอร์แรงบิด แผงควบคุม และแอคชูเอเตอร์ ซึ่งจะทำให้การบังคับเลี้ยวเป็นธรรมชาติ ไม่ได้รู้สึกผิดปกติไปจากเดิม
